Reinstalling worked. it seems to be in the .dat file, because i tried to load the old .dat file, in the reinstalled copy, but still code 167.
so now im downloading all the files again using -image. thanks anet. |

Had an old backup file from a few months ago
-Image command, 15000 files and 325mb later.....and still maintenance message Thanks for the advice guys ;p Just going to wait for Anet to fix it Loc: England |

Around 300 k/sec, drops under 100 at times.

Mmkay, Windows 7, x64-bit, England here.
Launched both clients via multi-launch with no issues at all. I launched my original followed by my copy if that's of any interest. I wasn't online when the maintenance started so is that a possible cause of the problems? |

It seems you don't really need an old .dat to do it. I did a -image on the current one I had, didn't work. Made a back-up of this latest version on my HDD, uninstalled the game, reinstalled it from the GW client, downloaded ~200 MB of files to log in, logged back out when I got to my chars, copied the .dat back from my HDD and everything worked like normal.

On an odd sidenote, I have no problem logging in, but when I see my character list, there are 2 of each character (basically doubled the character list in the same order, no actually doubling the characters)... Creating a new character resulted in a double too... Something broke during maintenance...

I wouldn't waste time reinstalling and patching up all the zones again. Left my pc for an hour or 2, tried it again after and logged straight in, so who knows what the cause is/was.
